Yesterday I was bored so I went over to my sister's apartment to visit my cat-nephew, Ike. We took some pictures together and I think we're in love. The truth is--I have an unhealthy obsession with cats, but I've never really had one due to living restrictions and the possibility that I may start telling them all my secrets and withdraw from society.
This blog is created to document 61 days of a summer in Lawrence, KS. It is a town that is usually crowded with crazy KU students but once summer hits and the masses at Daisy Hill move out--things get infinitely better. The townies reemerge, the sun shines early at the Farmer's Market, and its even possible to find a seat at Wheatfield's before ten o'clock on a Sunday.
I walk without flinching through the burning cathedral of the summer. My bank of wild grass is majestic and full of music. It is a fire that solitude presses against my lips.
